Not all of us are gifted with perfect long lashes, and mascaras can help only so much. If you don't want your frail lashes coating your face rather than framing your beautiful eyes, then you need to give them the attention they require. With all the perming, picking and tweaking we do, they are begging for some care. Here are 8 tips to make your lashes thick and lush the natural way.

No, do not brush with your regular brush. There are tiny, cute brushes available just to comb your lashes. Sweep it through your lashes everyday and watch them steadily grow longer and thicker. It is one of the easiest things you can do to make your lashes grow.

Avoid Mascara

Mascara certainly makes your eyes look all exotic, but at a price. Mascara is tough to remove, and by the time you get them out of your eyes, you will also have plucked quite a few of your precious lashes. So, why take the risk? Just skip it altogether.

Once again, Vaseline comes to the rescue! Every night before you crash into bed, just dab a bit of Vaseline over your eyelids and lashes, though sparingly, not so much that it blocks the follicles. It might take some time for you to see the results, but it definitely works. Your lashes will be thicker, longer and more defined, just the way you want it.

Olive Oil

Olive oil can work wonders for your lashes. Here is what you need to do: soak a cotton ball in warm olive oil and dab it over your eyelids. Leave it on overnight and your lids will soak up the vitamins and minerals present in the oil, making your lids look fuller and darker.

Lash Serum

Another great way to plump your lashes is with nourishing serum. The days you are not applying Vaseline or olive oil, try the serum. They have been specifically formulated to make your lashes grow stronger and it's not expensive either. What's more? It can also come in handy removing your daily eye make-up.

One quick way to get your lashes growing is by massaging them. Be careful about how you do it though, as the slightest of roughness on your side can cause them to break. Use the soft pad of your fourth finger to massage your lids in slow, circular motion. And don't forget to wash your hands first before you massage your eyes.

Pick Eye Products Wisely

Be it mascara, eyeliner or eye glitter, do yourself a favor and pick products that suit your eyes. Read the label carefully; try looking up on the Internet about the ingredients mentioned. In case of any doubt, don't hesitate to ask an expert.

Vitamin E

If nothing works, you can always turn to vitamin E. It is guaranteed to push your lashes to the maximum growth limit. Buy lotions infused with the goodness of vitamin E or vitamin E capsules. In the former case, squeeze the gel out and apply it sparingly over your lids.

Don't forget to indulge your eyes and body for a treat at a beauty salon.
